“Air Quotes” to a 4-Year Old
August 7, 2011It’s been quite a while since I last posted to this blog, but I didn’t want to forget this one…
We were sitting down at dinner at home, and Nicholas made that “air quote” sign with his fingers. As he did that he gave an emphatic, “Boo hoo!” I thought to myself, that’s strange… that a little boy who can’t really read would be doing that. So I told him, “Nicholas, you can’t do that [sign] if you don’t know what it means.”
Without hesitation, and still doing the air-quote sign… he said, “It’s bendy bunny ears, DUH!”
Where is he getting this attitude??
